Lake Photos

In the early morning, the lake is calm.  The sun rises high overhead warming the air and the water.  This morning a gentle breeze comes in from the northeast causing ripples in the water.  The cove areas remain calm as the wind bristles over the tops of the trees.

As I paddle my canoe near the shore, I spot a small school of fish.  I slow the canoe to a crawl and watch the fish just a few feet from me.  As the canoe floats slowly forward, I notice the fish staying beside me, following me as I coast along.  Eventually, as I get in deeper water, the fish head back to the warm temperatures of the shallow cove.

Summer is a wonderful time to be at the lake.  We have a few new lot owners and they are busy clearing and building.  The lake itself is bustling with activity.  Bugs and flies skim over the surface, fish jump out of the water, and Loons and other waterfowl frequent the lake looking for a meal or just frolicking about.  A couple of otters were spoted last year.  Snapping turtles are rarely seen, but there are a few large ones in the lake.

As the day wears on, activity picks up on the lake.  Some people are out swimming, some in their paddle boats or canoes.  There's even a party or two as the day turns into the evening.

Tomorrw, there will be less activity on the lake, as the people return to their homes and jobs.  Never fear, they will return again, next weekend perhaps.
